Rolf Structural Integration, Rolfing, is a bodywork that focuses on the connective tissue, or fascia to heal your body, mind, and spirit so you live without pain and in perfect balance.
Fascia is a band or sheet of connective tissue, primarily collagen, beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs. Fascia is classified by layer, as superficial fascia, deep fascia, and visceral or parietal fascia, or by its function and anatomical location.
They are similar to ligaments and tendons as they have collagen as their major component. They differ in their location and function: ligaments join one bone to another bone, tendons join muscle to bone, and fasciae surround muscles or other structures., of the body. Fascia surrounds muscles, groups of muscles, blood vessels, organs, and nerves, binding some structures together while permitting others to slide smoothly over each other. techniques that involves the targeted manipulation of the body’s soft tissue (Fascia) through coordinated pressure and movement. All of these “touch therapies” integrate specific strokes and practices to facilitate healing your body and removing chronic pains.
